There is only one week until my due date, however it feels like a lifetime away! Everything still seems to be going well, and they estimate that Lucy could be over 8 lbs (not bad for being told that she will be "underweight and premature" due to a 2 vessel cord). If that's "underweight", I'm scared for the children to come!
Things are going well for Nate. There's a chance he could be coming home even sooner than expected, so we're all keeping our fingers crossed. We still get to communicate daily, and now that the due date is getting close, he tries to call more than once/day. The hospital is very excited about Nate watching the birth on webcam. They have apparently had 4 meetings so far with multiple departments at the hospital involved. A company through the military called Freedom Calls sets everything up. They have over 200 live births/month (scary to think there are that many!), so this is all very routine to them. However, in this area nothing like this has ever happened, so Maine General is very excited and well prepared. They are even saving an OR room in the event that I may need a C-section. It's so incredible that Nate and I have this opportunity, we are ecstatic! Nate and I are going to be interviewed by the Kennebec Journal and a local news station that want to do stories on it... amazing! We will have plenty of stories to tell our little Lucille some day!
On another note, my sister Carolyn found out that she is having a boy! Congratulations Carolyn and Rory! It's baby fever around here...so don't drink the water!
